#bhteacherweek16 !

So, you may have noticed. I’m new to the whole blogging scene. I read numerous blog posts and tweets from other educators daily, but I am definitely a rookie at producing my own. That is the main reason why I was SO excited to participated in Blog Hoppin’s Teacher Week this year! Teachers from all over shared daily posts about their classrooms and themselves on Instagram. Keep reading to see a little more about me and my posts this past week.

Meet Me Mondaybhteacherweekm

These are few fun facts about me. I live in the beautiful & sunny state of Florida and love most everything about it. My all-time favorite part though-living less than 2 hours away from Disney World. I’ve been an annual passholder for a few years now and have never looked back! I am very close with my family and spend most of my free time with them. (They are also usually who I’m in Disney with!) I love all things music and technology and love integrating both of these things into my classroom daily. Right now, I’m entering my 3rd year teaching kindergarten and am learning and growing right along with my little ones. There’s never a dull moment for us and that’s exactly how we like it. 🙂

Teaching Tuesday- My Favorite Lesson

On Tuesday, I shared one of my favorite lessons from last school year. Student’s created this adorable scuba diver craft as part of our Under the Sea Week. They then wrote an imaginative story about what it would be like to go scuba diving, including what they would wear, where they would go, and the things they would see along their journey. Finally, students recorded their writing using either Seesaw or Tellagami and then pasted the QR code link to it on their scuba diver. This craftivity was quite an undertaking but the students and I had a fantastic time working on it. And, I mean, how adorable do they look hanging in our room?!

Where I Work Wednesday- My Classroom

I love my Dr. Seuss theme classroom this year! It’s bright, colorful, and inviting for my eager kindergartners. A few of my favorite touches include Hank the Octopus, who occupies my rocking chair, and our new cozy listening center corner, complete with couch and snuggly pillows.

Threads Thursday-A Peek at My Style

When you teach little ones, clothing staples include comfortable shoes to chase them, pants that wash well after food and craft stains, and comfortable outfits that allow me to wiggle and shake to GoNoodle right along with them. I also love a bright pop of color. The hot pink shirt I’m wearing here is one of my absolute favorites {purchased at Banana Republic Outlet for a steal}. I feel like wearing something bright reminds me to smile and think positive, even when things get hectic at school.

Friends Friday-People I Love

I have some of the most amazing friends. Some I’ve held on to since high school, others I met during my time at the University of Florida {Go Gators!}, and others still are some of the best teacher friends a girl could ask for. I am so thankful for this amazing support system and all the great times we’ve had together.

I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me. If we have anything in common, comment below! I’d love to connect.
